|apart| was a song that I wrote about long distance relationships, and coming to term with distances of many different kinds. I was the youngest child of my medium-large sized family, so I had to adapt to seeing people move away and follow their own journeys as they needed to. This, and a bunch of personal relationships that I had which grew gradually more distant taught me that even through distance, meaning can be found, and that distance does not discredit a relationship, but actually can sometimes make it stronger or more meaningful in other ways. This song is a reflection on these things through the use of an analogy of parallel lines.
